Pairing our couples with the planner who is best aligned with their needs, design style, and personality, our team takes on a limited number of weddings each season in order to dedicate our full attention to each couple and become fully immersed in every detail of their wedding.

Raven Menzies
Raven is a seasoned wedding planner, who began her planning and design career with a prominent Calgary wedding planner before venturing out on her own in 2022 and founding Raven Alexandra Signature Weddings. With a background in corporate finance and an upbringing in dance and the performing arts, Raven brings a truly unique approach to wedding planning and design, merging her logistical and creative passions to provide a uniquely comprehensive experience to her couples.
A wife and mother, Raven can attest to the importance of not only the couple, but the roles of their families and cherished guests on a wedding day. She finds joy in celebrating togetherness and creating intentional moments to honour these relationships. She loves getting to know her couples on a personal level, listening intently to their vision, then translating that vision into a design that will set their hearts a flutter through her refined, romantic, and organic touches.

About Raven
have always been captivated by love in its different forms and various expressions. In a great love story written by Jane Austen, the pas de deux danced in Swan Lake, or the final kiss in a classic movie. The idea of witnessing everlasting love through the ages is inspirational and foundational to my work at Raven Alexandra Signature Weddings as I curate moments celebrating love and connection.
I am inspired by movement, travel, interiors, and I always have a song in my heart. Above all, I am driven by the love that surrounds me. I have a little boy who fills my life with purpose, and a husband who I married nestled in the heart of the Northern Saskatchewan Boreal Forest. I find myself drawn to celebrating life at every opportunity as I see the wonder and joy that it brings to my son.
As I try to be ever present with my family, I hope to be able to give this same gift to my couples. I want their wedding preparations to be a time of heightened anticipation and passion without stress or worry pulling focus from what they value in their lives.
My approach to wedding planning is uniquely methodical and meticulous. I value integrity and accountability in my relationships, precision and accuracy in my work, and intentionality and artistry in my designs. I find joy in creating beauty from a blank canvas, and planning moments to treasure filled with connection and purpose. My team is a beautiful extension of these values and we feel exceptionally honoured and humbled when a couple trusts us with one of the most important celebrations of their lives.

Alexandra Gibson
Alex spent 15 years as a professional ballet dancer with the Alberta Ballet, where performing on stage was both a passion and a way of life. Throughout this time, she developed a deep fascination with every aspect of creating a show, from the artistic to the logistical.
Alex found just as much joy in the organization and preparation of a production as she did dancing under the spotlight. The dynamic and demanding environment of live performance taught her how to thrive under stress, find creative solutions, while remaining graceful and composed, keeping the audience completely unaware. This unique combination has led her to a fulfilling second career as a wedding planner, where she brings the same precision, attention to detail, and artistry to creating unforgettable events for her couples.

Liz has been captivated by weddings for as long as she can remember, spending countless hours watching any wedding inspired show she could find and stealing glances at gowns in every bridal shop she passed. Driven by a lifelong passion for celebration, she has planned events from intimate bridal showers to large charity events as well as her own wedding.
While Liz has a background in project engineering which drives her strong logistical capabilities, it is her love for personal connection that inspires her to go above and beyond, attending to her couples with the utmost care and attention. She ensures that each guest feels welcomed and valued, while radiating her infectious positivity at every turn.

Jennifer Gibson
Jen danced with the Alberta Ballet for 15 years as a professional ballet dancer, where she met her husband who was also a dancer at the company. Upon retiring from the stage, she maintained a deep appreciation for the artistry of performance, knowing that she could bring that same attention to detail and grace to planning and designing weddings.
Her background in the arts allows her to bring precision and elegance to every aspect of an event she touches, ensuring each moment flows beautifully, like an intricately choreographed production with the couple shining at center stage. Jen is passionate about creating memorable celebrations that reflect unique love stories.

It was no surprise when she began to delve into the wedding industry to explore this passion further. With positions in hospitality and bridal fashion, Maddie brings a variety of beneficial experience to her role on a wedding day making her poised to handle anything that comes her way.
Maddie brought her dreams for her own wedding to life, planning and designing a magical destination wedding on the cliffs of Ireland surrounded by her closest family and friends. She now enjoys reliving this magic with each wedding day she is involved in as she is committed to seeing her couples' visions come to life.
